1946 – 2023

Peggy Lou Weldon, a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many, departed this world on Dec. 2, 2023, leaving behind cherished memories and a profound void in the hearts of all those who knew her.

Born June 25, 1946, in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana to Hoyt & Wade (Raines) Dillard, Peggy later settled in Madisonville, where she resided until her final breath. She was a pillar of strength and a member of the First Baptist Church, finding solace and guidance in the embrace of her faith community.

Peggy embraced the joys and challenges of married life wholeheartedly and was blessed with a loving spouse, Phil Weldon and three daughters, Kimberly, Rhonda and Kandy. Throughout her journey, Peggy balanced the responsibilities of family life with her professional pursuits.

A natural entrepreneur, Peggy thrived in the fashion industry. She worked passionately for High Country Fashions, dedicating her time and efforts to setting up boutiques across the United States. Her commitment and expertise in her craft shone through, leaving an indelible mark on the fashion landscape.

Fueled by her entrepreneurial spirit, Peggy eventually took the leap and became the proud owner of P.W.’s Pleasure Wear. This venture encapsulated her creativity, drive and unwavering commitment to excellence in providing stylish fashion choices to clients and customers alike.

While Peggy’s accomplishments in her professional life were noteworthy, her greatest joy came from her role as a doting grandmother. She showered her grandchildren with boundless love, and her face would light up with an unmatched radiance in the presence of her great-grandchildren. Peggy’s legacy of love and devotion will forever be etched in their hearts.

Peggy was preceded in death by both of her parents; daughters, Kimberly Dawn Weldon-Frost and Rhonda Kay (Weldon) Marsh; and brother, Harold Gene Dillard.

The memory of Peggy Weldon will continue to be cherished by her her beloved spouse, Phil Weldon of Madisonville; daughter, Kandy (Weldon) Craig of Spring; brother, Wendall Dillard of Centerville; grandchildren, Niki Marsh, Tifani Calhoun & husband, Kyle and Taylor Craig and great-grandchildren, Berlyn, Lilian and Jack, as well as all those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Her warm smile, kind heart, and genuine compassion will be deeply missed.

A graveside service in honor of Peggy was held 11 a.m Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, at Calvary Hill Cemetery, Humble, Texas where family, friends and community members gathered to celebrate her beautiful life. Peggy was laid to rest in a peaceful burial, surrounded by the love that she gave so selflessly during her time with us.

In this time of mourning, let us find solace in the memories we shared with Peggy and the lasting impact she has had on our lives. May her soul find eternal peace, and may we find comfort in knowing that she rests in the comforting embrace of her heavenly father.
