1948 – 2025

Rhonnie Franklin “Ron” Styron, 77 years, 2 months, and 4 days, of Bedias, TX went to be with the Lord Friday, April 4, 2025, in College Station, TX. A memorial service will be held at a later date with full military honors.

Rhonnie was born on January 31, 1948 in Lake Providence, LA to Hollice Berlon Styron and Johnnie Virginia (Hopkins) Styron.

He graduated from Pasadena High School in Pasadena, TX in 1966.

While in high school, he met Joy Sue Logsdon and they were married on September 24, 1966 and were married for fifty-eight years. Together they had two daughters, Sondra and Rhonda.

On January 26, 1967, Rhonnie enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country for ten years as a petty officer first class during the Vietnam War. During his service to our country, he was awarded The National Defense Service Medal, The Navy Unit Commendation Medal, and two Good Conduct Medals. Rhonnie also received The Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal during Operation Frequent Wind which was the final phase in the evacuation of American civilians from South Vietnam.

After his military service, he attended San Jacinto College in Pasadena, TX and was a long-time chemical plant operator until he retired to Bedias, TX.

Rhonnie was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Roger, Ronford, and Ricky; and his sister-inlaw, Fred Styron.

Rhonnie is sur vived by his wife, Joy Sue (Logsdon) Styron; his daughters, Sondra Burditt and her husband Scott and Rhonda Styron; his special son-in-law, Bryan Strom; his grandchildren, Joseph Styron and Colton, Garrett Burditt and Jesse, Michael Styron and Casey, Jacob Strom, Brandon Jones, Joshua Burditt, Marissa Hall and her husband, Aric, Faith Williams and her husband Brennan, and Britteny Miller; his great-grandchildren, Lilly Styron, Jackson Conrad, Adalay Styron, Oakley Styron, Raylenn Hall, and Colson Styron; his brother, Roderick Styron; his sister, Robin Brownlee and Russell; his uncle Barney Styron and his aunt Simp; and his numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
