ROBERT GLENN CHARLES “BOBBY” POINTER
Robert Glenn Charles “Bobby” Pointer; 26 of Iola, TX; passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 in Bryan, TX. A celebration of Bobby’s life was scheduled for 12 p.m. on Tuesday; July 6, 2021 at Iola Missionary Baptist Church in Iola, TX with Bro. Dale Evans officiating. There was a visitation prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. and the burial followed the service at Pankey Cemetery.
Bobby was born on March 29, 1995 in Bryan, TX to Byron Glenn “Moon” Pointer and Belinda Carol (McKinney) Pointer. He graduated from Iola High School and was a supervisor with Scott Fennell, Incorporated at the time of his death. Bobby was a gentle giant who loved everyone he met. He always had a big smile, a kind word, and a loving hug to offer. Bobby was man who would give you the shirt off his back or pull you out of a ditch at 2 a.m. He loved God, his family, his friends, and LSU. Growing up, you could find Bobby anywhere his dad was; which was typically the cafe, working cows, or a roping pen. As he got older, he was usually on the football field, basketball court, or baseball field. After graduation, Bobby went on to find his way in the work force, becoming a supervisor at SFI, a job that he thoroughly enjoyed. In his free time, he loved spending time with his wife and daughter, being at his parents’ home, or aggravating his nieces and nephew. Bobby loved to pick on the ones he loved most, whether it was rooting for anyone but the Cowboys, pushing all his mom’s political buttons, or just getting a good rise out of Hannah, you could always count on him to make things interesting. He was funny and witty with a twisted sense of humor but had a heart of gold.
‘And today he joined up with Jesus wearing’ shiny pearl snaps… showin’ off his brand spankin’ new wings and his barbed wire halo’.
Bobby was preceded in death by his grandparents, Johnny Pointer, Sr., Gladys Pointer, Willum “Dub” Glass, LaVelle Glass, and Jimmy McKinney.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Haley Quinn (Burden) Pointer; his daughter, Abigail Quinn Pointer; his parents; his sisters, Angela Pointer Hare (Gordon) and Hannah Pearl Longron (Matthew); his nieces, Olivia Hare, Amelia Hare, Noah Longron; and his nephew, Archer Longron; his father and mother in law, Art and Lisa Wolfe and their family; and numerous other family members and friends.
