Ronald Pontius, 74, of Madisonville, Texas passed away December 6, 2020 in Madisonville. He was born December 1945 innac, Michigan to parents, Elmer & Aileen Grace (Endleman) Pontius. He grew up in Mission, Texas where he also graduated from high school. Ronald attended the University of Texas at Pan American where he received both his Bachelors and Master’s degrees. He also served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

Ronald was a school counselor and worked for the Region Educational Service Center in Edinburg, Texas, as well as, the Heart of Texas Education Coop in Brady, Texas. He enjoyed art sculpturing and spending time with his five grandchildren and two sons. Ronald had been a resident of Madisonville for the past year-and-a-half, coming from Burton, Texas. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Ronald was preceded in death by both of his parents and brother, Paul Pontius. He is survived by his wife of fiftyyears, Ginny Pontius of Madisonville; sons, Ben (Amy) Pontius of The Woodlands and Justin (Beverly) Pontius of Frisco; brother, Lewis Pontius of Moore, OK and grandchildren, Kate, Luke, Levi, Nathan and Avery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
