1936 – 2024 Ruby Edna Mae (Peyton) Grissett, 87 years, 5 months, and 21 days; from Iola, TX, passed away at her home on Thursday, March 7, 2024.

Funeral services were scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Zion Methodist Church in Iola, TX with Charles Ray and Steve Peyton officiating. Visitation was prior to the service beginning at 9 a.m. The burial followed at Zion Cemetery in Iola, TX.

Ruby was born on September 16, 1936 in Houston, TX to G.D. Peyton and Thelma (Curry) Peyton Hart and was retired from The Iola Independent School District.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Alfred Hart; and her siblings, Nancy Olson, Margaret Heffner, and Gilbert Peyton.

Ruby is survived by her husband of nearly seventy years, Richard Earl Grissett; her children, Richelle Elizabeth Askins, Larry Wayne Grissett, and Katherine Ann Huerta; her grandchildren, Hillary Schwanbeck (Brent), Samantha Seals (Thomas), Gregory Huerta (Hilary), Brittany Huerta, Brandee Grissett (Rob), Haylee Grissett, and Kassee Creamer (Case); her nine great grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
