1952 – 2025

Sammy Don Jeter was born on July 29, 1952, to Bill and Shirley Jeter passed away on November 18, 2025.

He grew up in Madisonville, Texas, where he formed lifelong friendships and created memories that stayed with him throughout his life. A proud member of Madisonville High School Class of 1970, Sammy carried the spirit of his hometown wherever he went, living and traveling throughout Texas over the years.

Sammy married the love of his life, Karen Wells Jeter, and together they shared many years of partnership, laughter, and devotion.

He passed just three days before their 56th anniversary. Sammy was the loving father of two sons: Stacy and his wife Michelle, who blessed him with two grandchildren Sydney, who preceded him in death at the age of 16, and Cameron Jeter; and Son Cory Michael, who blessed him with three grandchildren Jordan, Jacie, and Jaxson Jeter. To all of them, he was affectionately known as “Daddo,” a name spoken with love and admiration.

Throughout his life, Sammy marched to the beat of his own drum.

Independent, direct, and steadfast, he approached life on his own terms and rarely strayed from the path he believed in. Those who knew him understood that he lived exactly as he intended firmly, honestly, and unapologetically his way.

Sammy was preceded in death by his grandparents John Burtis and Ruby White, Frank and Kity Bess Jeter; his father, Bill Jeter; his granddaughter, Sydney Jeter. He is survived by his wife of fifty six years Karen Jeter; his children, Stacy and Cory Michael; and grandchildren, Jordan, Cameron, Jacie, and Jaxson Jeter; his mother, Shirley Jeter; and his two sisters, Pam Rigby and Julie White along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Rest in peace, Sammy.

Your spirit, your strength, and your love will be forever remembered.
