The North Zulch men’s basketball team split a pair of district matchups last week with a 48-34 win over Bartlett Jan. 5 and a 72-47 loss to Calvert at NZHS Friday. The split brought the Bulldogs’ overall district record to 3-1 entering Tuesday’s road matchup at Dime Box.

North Zulch held Bartlett to just 11 points in the first half of their 14-point road victory Jan. 5. Emory Broussard led the Bulldogs with 21 points in the matchup, including a pair of three-pointers. He was followed by Ali Suny with 13 points.

Suny logged three triples for the Bulldogs in the district victory.

Calvert jumped out on top of the Bulldogs Friday to establish an early lead and never looked back. The Bulldogs allowed 45 points in the first half and could not fight their way back, despite 19 points from Broussard.

Gage O’Neal followed Broussard in scoring in the loss with 19 points while Dallas Drake added nine.

The Bulldogs will return to NZHS Friday to host Round Top-Carmine at 6:30 p.m.
