The North Zulch Bulldogs baseball team picked up their second win of the season with an 8-4 win over the Oakwood Panthers on Monday.

After falling behind early 1-0 to open the game the Bulldogs exploded in their half of the first with four runs to take a 4-1 lead.

Riley Mooney and River Gafford both reached base after being beamed with pitches. Corbin May loaded the bases with the Bulldogs first hit, a single. Trainer Malinak stepped up and doubled a shot to left field scoring Gafford and Mooney to put the Bulldogs up 2-1.

A walk to Lane Vann loaded the bases once again for North Zulch. The next two Bulldog runs came via a groundout by Jason Ray to put North Zulch up 4-1.

In the bottom of the second the Bulldogs extended their lead. Tripp Baker walked followed by back-to-back singles by Mooney and Gafford. Baker was put out advancing to second. May then stepped up and collected his second hit of the game with a double that drove in Mooney and Gafford putting the Bulldogs up 6-1.

Oakwood added one run in the top half of the third to trim the lead to 6-2.

North Zulch got the run back in the bottom of the fourth. Baler singled to center and would come around to score via a single by Gafford to make it a 7-2 game.

Two runs in the sixth by Oakwood would be the last of the Panther threat. In the bottom of the inning Baker came across again for the Bulldogs final run.

North Zulch is now 2-8 on the season and will host Centerville on Friday.
