Last Thursday the Lady Mustangs gathered 13 runs on 13 hits, but it was a huge 12 run inning by Connally that gave them the edge over Madisonville in the highly contested 16- 13 contest.

Grace Coleman stepped up going 3-for-4 in the game with a triple and a pair of singles to lead in the batter’s box for the Lady Mustangs.

Sidnie Smith took first base with a game opening single. Maegan Anderson would join her on the bases via a walk. Grace Williamson would then step up and launch a line drive ball to left field as she took three bases and drove in Smith and Anderson to put Madisonville up 2-0.

After a Meza walk, Darby Burke doubled driving in two more runs for the Lady Mustangs increasing their lead to 4-0. She would eventually score on an error making the score 5-0.

Connally would start chipping away in their half of the first getting one run.

In the second Madisonville would get that run back to take a 6-1 lead when Anderson singled driving in Smith.

The boom hit in the bottom of the third. Connally had four straight batters reach base by way of walks as they charged back to take a 13-6 lead.

The Lady Mustangs pulled within three in the fourth. Coleman singled to drive in Smith. Anderson was hit by a pitch and would eventually come in to score along with Coleman. Burke then drove in Kyndall Creighton to make it a 13-10 game.

Smith and Coleman would score again in the top of the fifth to pull the Lady Mustangs within one at 13-12.

Connally added a run in their half of the fifth to make it a 15-12 contest.

Run sweet 16 for Connally came in the bottom of the sixth as they wrapped up their scoring. The Lady Mustangs try as they may, only scored one more run in the seventh.

Madisonville fell to 9-12-1 on the season and were at home last night against Mexia.
