Congressman Michael T. McCaul is set to host a closed community leaders coffee event, bringing together multiple branches of local leadership, on Saturday, Jan. 27.
"One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to travel the district and hear from Texans about the issues that are most important to them. I'm excited to stop in Madison and Grimes Counties this weekend to give an update on my work to restore the economy, secure the border, and stand up to China while hearing from Texans about what they would like Congress to accomplish," said Congressman McCaul.
Last week, the U.S. Department of Justice’s report on the law enforcement response to the school shooting in Uvalde broke headlines across the nation. The report came out Thursday, Jan. 17, and sparked many law enforcement agencies to look within to reassess and strengthen their preparedness in case of any disaster.
Among those agencies were some in Madison County, including the City of Madisonville’s Police Department and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, who emphasized the collaborative efforts to prevent school shootings.
