The Ten Mile Cemetery (7546 FM 2289 Normangee, Texas 77871) located in Madison County has been recognized as a Texas Historical Cemetery by the Texas Historical Commission. Saturday, May 7, 2022, has been set to conduct the celebration ceremony for the unveiling of the Ten Mile Historical Emblem. The ceremony will be conducted at the Ten Mile Cemetery Pavilion at 10 a.m. Madison County officials, Historical Commission representatives and T.M. Board Members will conduct the ceremony. All interested persons are invited to attend the ceremony.

Mary Beth Edmunds, age 82, of Madisonville, Texas passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at her home in Madisonville. Mary was born October 6, 1939 to James Ancil & Lucy (Laird) Gafford in Madison County, Texas.

Carolyn Sue (Bledsoe) Karber; 79 years, 1 month, 16 days; of Madisonville, Texas, who was our dear beloved wife, mother, and grandmother; went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, April 29, 2022, in Bryan, Texas, with her family by her side. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville, Texas, with Bro. Wayne Scott officiating. The burial will follow the service at Ten Mile Cemetery in Madisonville, Texas. The visitation is scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.

The Madisonville softball team concluded their season with a pair of losses in the Bi-District playoffs to top-ranked Jasper. Harris hits new highs

Lexi Harris has been an accomplished hitter her whole college softball career, but the Normangee High School graduate has taken her hitting to another level. After batting a career-high .378 last year for University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, the senior led the starters with a .416 average through the first 34 games this season.
Mustangs prepare for Bi-District
Body
The Madisonville baseball team completed their season with 21 wins and a district record of 7-3, good for second place behind undefeated China Spring. The Mustangs will matchup with Hudson in a best-of-three Bi-District playoff series beginning with game one on the road Friday and concluding Saturday at home with game two as well as game three, if necessary.
