Patricia Ann “Patsy” Matejka; 76 years, 9 months, 22 days; a longtime resident of Madisonville, TX and a current resident of Bandera, TX; passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, in Kerrville, TX. Patsy’s life will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Madisonville Christian Fellowship in Madisonville, TX with the burial to follow at Madisonville Cemetery in Madisonville, TX. Her son, Pastor Wade Phillips, will officiate. The visitation is scheduled from 5-7PM on Friday, April 21, 2023, at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville, TX.

The surname or last name “Parten” has been a common one in Madison County history, though it seems there aren’t near as many Partens here lately as a hundred years ago. Ursal Dendy “U.D.” Douglas, 87, of Bedias, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 11, 2023. He was born in Tallahatchie County, Mississippi on April 16, 1935, the son of Thurman Douglas and Ollie Etoile (Dendy) Douglas.

Barbara Zo “Bee” (Minyard) Fraley Clute, 79, of Madisonville passed away on April 16, 2023, in Bryan. Barbara was born in Beaumont on October 18, 1943, to Pierce and Loreda Minyard, and grew up in Colmesneil, Texas where she served as the drum major of the Colmesneil High School band.
