Josey Bell, 2023 NCHYA World Champion

Madisonville native Josey Bell will always remember this past year. She spent much of her time chasing a dream, and she miraculously caught it. On July 29, she was named as the 2023 National Cutting Horse Association Junior Youth World Champion. Fort Worth will always be one of her favorite places. Looking back over the hauling year, Josey recalls how much fun she had and the talented horses she had the opportunity to ride. She can talk horses with anyone, and she does.

This law makes nearly 3.5 million veterans eligible for care and benefits they have earned.

Child care centers closing across state

An unprecedented number of child care centers are expected to close across the state as pandemic relief funding ends, the Texas Standard reported. A survey conducted by the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children of about 1,600 child care programs indicated 44% were likely to close their doors without additional funding. Federal pandemic relief funds ended for most centers in June.
