Angler Education Class to be Held at Fort Boggy State Park

Each February on the last Saturday of the month, Fort Boggy State Park and the Friends of Fort Boggy State Park put on their Annual Kid Fish clinic and tournament. In 2024 it will be on Saturday, February 24 and volunteers are always needed.

I’ve read that at times in history, Madison County was a wild and woolly place. Old newspaper articles that were printed around the state and copied below support that premise.

I must admit, I bristled upon hearing the paper was doing a feature on local first responders titles, “Hometown Heroes.” While I found it thoughtful that the community was interested in getting to know their local emergency personnel, I still found that the use of the word, “hero” troubled me.
