The Madisonville Mustangs varsity baseball team showcased their skills on the field with a victory 15-0 over West Fork Gators on Saturday, Feb. 24.

One of the teams for the North Zulch Little Dribblers won second place in their own tournament to finish off the season.

The Lady Mustangs have shown they have a penchant for defense this season, and Tuesday night, they again applied that pressure on their way to a Class 4A Regional Quarterfinal win over Liberty 57-35. With the win, the Lady Mustangs moved to 30-5 on the season, dominating the Lady Panthers from start to finish.

As part of the Madison County Soccer Club, the FC Mustangs Elite have reached the number two spot in the Texas South division.

2024 MUDBUG FESTIVAL

The Madisonville High School Band participated in the UIL SOLO & ENSEMBLE Contest on Saturday, Feb 17. State Qualifiers with a Division 1 rating: Soloist: Devin Merchant Clarinet Trio: Viviana Estrada, Yarely Martinez, Cecilia Vera Clarinet Choir: Viviana Estrada, Yarely Martinez, Cecilia Vera.

Early voting in the March 5 primary election ends Friday with a host of candidates on the ballot in both parties, including president, U.S. Senate, all 38 Texas U.S. representatives, all 150 Texas House representatives, and down to local races for district attorney, sheriff and other positions.

Last week, I requested information regarding the elementary school at the corner of Harrell and Ease Main. Mr. Arnold Foster told me that the auditorium was on the third floor, where no one would have survived if there had been a fire!
