Veterans from Madison County participated in the Midway Summer Reading program, where they read books to children and taught them military traditions. The volunteers, led by Madisonville native Zack Schroeder, who attended the daycare as a child, spent time cutting limbs, raking leaves, mowing, and working on flower beds despite stormy weather, Schroeder, who says his call to ministry began at Rita's brought the group to his hometown as part of their mission work.
