The Texas Senate approved the new congressional map and sent the bill to Gov. Greg Abbott, who signed it Friday. A lawsuit challenging the redrawn districts as being racially discriminatory was filed before Abbott could ink the legislation.

A Toyota Camry covered in colorful messages and artwork made its way through Madison County on Tuesday as Darshan Patel, a cultural ambassador on a mission, stopped in Madisonville. Patel, who serves as CEO of WorldMiTR, has been traveling for four years to promote health, happiness, peace, and unity.

The Madisonville football team (1-0) came out swinging to start the 2025 season at Lumberjack Stadium in Diboll Friday. It resulted in nearly 500 all-purpose yards, six defensive turnovers and a 47-12 victory for the Mustangs.
