The city’s Adopt an Elderly Neighbor program needs volunteers and sponsors to help older residents with yard work. The program connects volunteers with elderly residents who need help mowing, edging and clearing yard debris.

AUSTIN - The death toll from catastrophic flooding in Texas climbed past 100 on Monday as search teams continued operations in swollen rivers and used heavy equipment to clear tangled trees. At least 104 people died in the flooding that struck over the July Fourth weekend.
