The Madisonville Mustangs varsity baseball team had a difficult week during the week of April 10 and April 12, dropping games to the Hudson Hornets and Bullard Panthers. On Wednesday, April 10, the Mustangs hosted the Hornets, who struck first in the top of the 1st inning, as Cutter Warren homered and Diesel Gonzales and Jake Davis each singled to take a quick 3-0 lead.
The Madisonville Lady Mustangs softball team has faced a series of difficult games starting off with a game against the Rusk Lady Eagles. Despite a strong offensive effort, defensive miscues, and strong pitching from Rusk proved too much to overcome in a 12-5 loss.

The Madisonville community is coming together to support one of their youngest members, baby Waylon, by holding a co-ed volleyball tournament fundraiser on Saturday, April 27 at Madisonville High School.
In May, the 20th Texas Silver-Haired Legislature will meet in Austin to discuss and debate proposed Resolutions aimed at addressing issues unique to older Texans - and by extension all citizens. For instance, younger citizens may have older family members financially exploited because of their age or have concerns about staffing ratios in Alzheimer’s facilities where family members reside.
SPECIAL TO THE METEOR Madisonville High School's UIL Academic Team proudly displays their awards after competing in the UIL Academic competition held in Bullard and Jacksonville on April 5th and 6th, 2024. The team, consisting of 10 students and four coaches, participated in various events, including Prose, Poetry, Number Sense, Ready Writing, and Lincoln Douglas Debate.
