The Madisonville City Council met Monday, September 9, to discuss a packed agenda that included budget approval, tax rates, and heated debates over park facilities and city-county agreements. The council swiftly approved the consent agenda, which included minutes from the August 12 meeting, accounts payable, and the previous month’s financial report.

North Zulch Independent School District approved its 2024-25 budget at a special board meeting Monday night, increasing classroom spending while reducing costs in other areas. The district will raise per-pupil instruction spending from $8,708 to $9,477, an increase of 8.8%.
