The Madisonville football team is competing in seven-on-seven contests on Mondays in June to go along with their summer training in preparation for the 2021 season this fall. Though the summer baseball season is young, Zach Poe already is pitching like he did during the spring. The Madisonville High School graduate is competing for the Brazos Valley Bombers in the Texas Collegiate League.

The best way to give back to the game of basketball is to teach the next generation of players how to compete and be successful. That’s what a former Mustang basketball player and company are doing: teaching and coaching local youth about the sport.

The Trailer Parts Outlet Team announced it will hold a grand reopening at their newly renovated facilities at 2209 I-45 North in Madisonville, a few miles past Henson Ford, Monday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to showcase what they have been building toward for six months. The free all day festivities will include music, food and prizes.

On June 14, American Legion Post 84 conducted their flag disposal ceremony on site. Assisting in the disposal of the flags was Cub Scout Pack 191, who received scouting awards and badges. The participating scouts included Jonathan Gonzalez, Ayden Gonzalez, Naomi Gonzalez, Chase Busa, Audrina Busa and Azaleas Brown. COURTESY PHOTOS
