C. Jack Hunter was born in Sherman, Texas on February 18, 1951 to Loys Hunter and Bettie (Miller) Hunter.

A year ago I embarked on my journey as MCFA Queen. The night I was crowned I maybe slept for two hours because I was so excited to get up, get ready and put my crown on again. I am very grateful that my mother always encouraged me to see my crown and sash not as a prize, but as an opportunity. An opportunity to represent Madison County, an opportunity to serve, and to grow into the best version of myself. Thank you to my family, friends and this Association for pushing and allowing me to lean into that person.

Kanin Cleere with Madison County 4-H exhibited the Champion Shorthorn Heifer at the 2021 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on March 4 at the NRG Center in Houston, TX. It’s been quite a few decades since a young Norman Risinger worked for the Madisonville Meteor and quite a few decades since he and his late wife Thelma owned the intertwining Madisonville Printing Company.

Circus Funtastic held two shows at the Madison County Fairgrounds Thursday and treated attendees to acrobatics, speed juggling, tight rope walkers and clown antics. The show was in town for one night and included games and concessions outside the facility. CAMPBELL ATKINS

The Madisonville Police Department is continuing its investigation into the case of Jose Jaime Rivera, a local store owner who was arrested on multiple felony indictments related to the sexual abuse of children on Feb. 26.
