COVID-19 testing is being offered at the Bedias Civic Center today and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Testing will continue on Monday to Wednesday and again on Dec. 28 to Dec. 30, also 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. No appointment is needed for the cheek-swab test. You are requested to stay in your car for the drive thru testing at no charge, please bring photo ID.

It is likely that many Bedias events and gatherings will still be disrupted through much of December and into the new year. Please watch for postings and notices, including the annual Bedias Christmas Parade, on the Bedias community bulletin board at the Bedias Civic Center and at the Bedias Post Office.

Mackie Bobo-White shares that the Bedias Women’s Club Christmas party has been cancelled and that they are looking forward to hosting a spring event in its stead.

The Bedias Museum and Library expects to remain for a while longer due to COVID-19 concerns, but Bobo-White reminds us that free children’s and adult books continue to be available on the front porch of the library at any time. Want to know more about our wonderful library programs? Please go to the library page, www. facebook.com/BediasLibrary or www.facebook. com/BediasLibrary Home and please consider becoming a library volunteer and a financial supporter.

Darrell Hall neighborhood news… Grimes County Commissioner, Chad Mallett, shares… “We finally received a response from the County Attorney. To create road districts, the roads in the district [each DH neighborhood located in Grimes County] must be ‘a public’ road. The County Attorney and I are researching this further. I will let you know what we find.”

Commissioner Mallett also writes… “We need to ensure that the roads are for public use, in order for the County to set up a road district. The County Attorney is preparing to mail documentation that each [DH Grimes County neighborhood] landowner will need to sign. I hope to know something by next week and we can put together information for the landowners.”

We need your help; it is very important that Darrell Hall property owners let us know their thoughts and concerns as the process comes closer to implementation. Please visit our Facebook page and share your “two-cents.” www. facebook.com/FixOurDarrellHallRoad.

The next Bedias Civic Club and Bedias Women’s Club meetings are not yet posted. Please check their Facebook and web site for more information.
