Anthony was born August 1, 1954 to Lois Kendrick and Samuel Green. He was an avid student of O.H. Herman Schools. He was raised by his mother and adopted father, Matthew King, Sr. Tony received the call to discipleship at an early age while learning at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Van Vleck under the leadership of Pastor Ollie Reynolds. Tony worked alongside Mathew learning his trade and became a mechanic’s helper as a young boy. He played sports, enjoyed homemaking and was a member of the FFA while in school. Anthony was a member of the Van Vleck High School Graduating Class of 1972. He graduated from Prairie View A&M University, majoring in drafting in 1976. He followed the Calling of His Savior, JESUS Christ and became a Baptist Minister at Outreach Baptist Church, Houston, Texas, under the leadership of Pastor Leonard L. Favorite in the late 90’s. Tony continued his service in the ministry as an Assistant Minister at Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church in Madisonville until COVID struck his earthly temple.

Anthony was a jack of many trades. He loved working outside and with his hands. He built compressors at Tide Water Company for many years. Anthony met and married Linda Nealy Carrington. He later retired to country living in Midway, Texas. He loved his Houston Texans, traveling, fishing, gardening, playing dominoes, spades and planting roses for Linda. He received great pleasure in sharing his crops with others. But more than anything, he loved being with family and serving God’s people; especially the elderly.

Anthony transitioned peacefully to his heavenly home on Thursday, June 17, 2021 after a courageous battle with COVID at Kindred Hospital, Sugarland. He leaves precious memories to his loving wife, Linda; daughter, Jenaba; sons, Jessie, Michael; grandchildren, Jaydah, Josiah, Jamir; godson, Donald Page; sisters, Yolanda (Roy), Alice, Charlotte, Melva (Larry), Helen (Rodney), Vina (Greg), Hattie (Clarence); brothers, Claude, Matthew, Samuel, Raymond (Annie); step-mother, Rosie Green; devoted aunt, Cassie Manning, Elizabeth Dickie; uncles, Ellis Leroy Boone, Murray Green; Nealy Family: Mary, Bettie, Odessa (Thomas), D.C.
