The Madisonville Junior High School junior varsity cheerleading squad members celebrate their three first-place wins at the UCA cheerleading camp. FC Mustangs to take on National League

The 2013 FC Mustangs soccer team has earned a spot in the USYS National League Frontier Conference, becoming one of only four Texas teams selected for the prestigious league. “It was a big surprise, but that’s the goal we had planned for those kids,” Coach Luis Martinez said.

Youth Football kicks off the season

The Madisonville Youth Football and Cheer program started its Football Condi tioning Camp on Monday, July 21. Young boys took to the practice field behind Madisonville Junior High to run drills with coaches during the first day of the camp. Regular practice for the season starts on Monday, July 28.
Mustangs volleyball, football teams seek young buddies

Madisonville High School volleyball invites kindergarten through fifth grade students in the Madisonville area to become 2025 volleybuddies. Volleybuddies will meet their varsity partner before Meet the Mustangs on Aug.
Fall Ball registration is open

The Madisonville Little League will open registration for fall baseball and softball on Monday. The fall season runs from July 14 through Aug.
FC MUSTANGS HOSTS SUMMER WORKOUTS

FC Mustangs and Madisonville High School players gather after a summer workout at the soccer fields at Lake Madison Park. The club is hosting high school group workouts at 7:15 p.m. on Mondays throughout the summer. Drop-ins are welcome for all sessions.
LITTLE LEAGUE COMPLETES SEASON

Madisonville Little League's Major and Minor All-Star teams finished their tournament seasons last month. Neither team won their tournaments, but officials said they played hard throughout the competition.
Grind Softball announces 14U tryouts

Grind Softball will hold tryouts for its 14U team on three dates in July at a location between Huntsville and Madisonville. The organization scheduled tryouts for July 7, 10 and 17 from 6 to 8 p.m.
