Over the weekend, all four Madisonville youth football teams played in the Heart of Texas Divisional Conference round of the playoffs. All four teams’ coaches had great game plans and had their teams prepared, but it came down to the kids executing the simple things.

In an impressive first game of the 2023 UIL Texas Football State Championship for the 4A Division 2 bracket, the Madisonville Mustangs faced off against the La Grange Leopards, trampling over them 55-7, becoming Bi-District champions.
Two students sign letters of intent

On the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 8, Madisonville High School had two senior student-athletes sign letters of intent in the Mustang Gym.
One player of the Mustangs baseball team signed his intent to play at the next level. Caden Miller signed with Houston Christian University to play for the Huskies.

The Madisonville Mustangs ended their district season with a game against the Salado Eagles Friday, Nov. 3, finishing with a score of 56-14.
Youth Football head towards Championship

North Zulch Halloween Slow Pitch Softball game brought friendly competition and laughter Tuesday, Oct. 24. The girls kept it close for a while with good defense, but the boys pulled away late after their bats got hot.

The cheerleaders competed in the Heart of Texas cheer competition on Saturday, Oct. 28. Even though they fell short and didn't win, the coaches are proud of them and all the hard work the players put in to be able to compete.
