Madisonville golfers competed in the Regional tournament for the seventh straight season and recorded a top-ten finish in Huntsville April 19-20. Sophomore Matthew DeBoisblanc finished as the fourth medalist and fifth overall, missing a state qualification by just two strokes. Other competitors for the Mustangs included Mason Railsback, Cameron Thrower, Daniel Bodenhamer and Cade Colwell. Stangs take two in district

The Madisonville baseball team picked up a pair of league victories over Connally April 20 and Mexia Saturday to improve to 6-3 in district play entering Tuesday’s finale and senior night matchup against La Vega at MHS. A Tuesday win coupled with a Robinson loss to undefeated China Spring would put the Mustangs in a tie for second place in the district.
