The Madisonville softball team showed out at their own home tournament Thursday through Saturday with an impressive 5-0-1 record at MHS to start their young season off on the right note. MARY LOU (PHIFER) BAILEY

Body
Mary Lou (Phifer) Bailey was born on September 3, 1932 in Leona, Texas. She passed away on February 4, 2022 in Richmond, Texas at the age of eighty-nine. She grew up in Leona and graduated from Leona High School in 1950. Mary Lou then went on to Sam Houston University earning a Bachelor’s in Business and English in 1953. On June 27th of 1953, she married James Wilton Bailey. Mary Lou went to work for Houston ISD as a secretary and Wilton was drafted into the Army where he went overseas for two years. After his return, Wilton went back to work in the farm equipment business and they had two children Rebecca and Brian. Mary Lou became a stay-at-home mom. When both children were in school Mary Lou went back to work as a substitute teacher which led to a career in education that spanned twenty-seven years.

BILLY DON MCGILBRA

Billy Don ”Bill’s” journey began on April 2nd, 1960, in Midway, Texas. It was there, he joined an exceptionally, extraordinary family, who would raise him with strong Christian convictions and values. He was the youngest child, of the late Clyde, and Mary Ethel McGilbra, and would join his four sisters, Lillian Ann (Midway, TX), Hazel Washington (deceased), Patsy Ann Jordan (Madisonville, TX), and Pauline Burns (Midway, TX). He would also join three brothers, Larry Jordan (Dallas, TX), E.L. “Sonny” (deceased) and Rossi Lee (deceased).

A Life Lived with Love & Service “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die...” Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 June 12, 1949, God graced Rick Randle and Mary Lois Brown with their first child, a baby girl. They named her Mary Louise Randle.
