From Passover to Resurrection

Love Disciples and the Cross Pointe Church children’s ministry are hosting an interactive children’s event at the Kimbro Center on Saturday, March 30, at 6 p.m. The event will go over the events from Passover to Christ’s resurrection, all depicted from a child’s viewpoint while interacting with the story through a set of resurrection eggs.

MCISD PD TEACH MANDATORY CURRICULUM

On Friday, March 15 Madisonville CISD Police Department’s Sergeant Mahler, Officer Ogle, and Officer Lawrenz taught a mandatory curriculum to some of the Madisonville CISD High School students.

By law, school districts must provide instruction to students in grades 9th-12th on proper interaction with Peace Officers during traffic stops and other in-person encounters.

1952 – 2024 Jeffrey Bert “Jeff” Congdon, 71 years, 11 months, and 19 days, a long-time resident of Midway, TX passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in Huntsville, TX. Jeff, as he was known to his family and friends, was born on April 1, 1952 in Waukegan, IL to Raoul Bert Congdon and Marie Charlotte (Hudson) Congdon and was retired as a Chaplain with The Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Singer-songwriter Shelley King is gearing up for a performance at the Madisonville Mudbug & Music Festival on Saturday, April 13, at Lake Madison Park. King, known for her “powerhouse” vocals and stage presence, is part of the Texas Commission of the Arts Rural Tours initiative to bring live music to underserved Texas communities.
