1938-2024 Ronald Dean Stinson, age 85, passed away on March 20, 2024. He was born to John Harvey and Alberta (Williams) Stinson in Lake City, Illinois on Sept. 18, 1938.

1935-2024 Doris Lynell Wooderson, age 88 of Jackson, Tennessee passed away on March 15, 2024 in Henderson, Tennessee. Lynell was born on Oct. 17, 1935 in Houston, Texas to the late Aubrey and Eva Radney McCollum.

1937-2024 Jeff Alonzo Farris, Jr., 86 years, of Madisonville, TX, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at his home in The Cottonwood Community of Madison County, TX. Jeff’s life will be celebrated 2 p.m.

Madisonville Senior Joeli Hardy has been busy nonstop since the last time we sat and talked. She has shown at the biggest shows in the state: Houston, San Antonio and Fort Worth.

A Texas American Federation of Teachers union survey reveals that some Texas teachers are considering leaving the profession. The survey, taken by around 6,000 education educators across the state, found that nearly 70% are ready to quit jobs due to various pressures, including burnout, according to KSAT.

The Texas Department of Transportation recently posted the final environmental assessment for the SL 1853 Madisonville Loop project, marking a milestone in the proposal’s progress.
