The Madisonville football team (2-3) returns to action Friday with their district opener against the La Grange Leopards (4-1) on the road. The Mustangs have defeated the Leopards in the Bi-District round of the playoffs each of the last two seasons.

The sixth annual BThe sixth annual Brazos Valley Gives Day is Oct. 15, from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Last year’s giving day proved to be one of the most unifying and exciting days of giving for the seven–county region with $1,454,920 raised for the 168 nonprofits. An additional donation of 8,754 volunteer hours were pledged.
