Spectators admire vintage aircraft and classic cars at Madisonville Municipal Airport’s first Fly-In & Car Show Saturday, Sept. 28. The event, organized by Lazy Eight Flight School and the city of Madisonville, drew 30 planes and about 20 vehicles. City officials promise an expanded event for next year, slated for Sept. 27, 2025, with more vendors, food options, and activities for children.

Midway Fire Department Secures New Rescue Vehicle

The Midway Volunteer Fire Department is set to boost its emergency response capabilities with a new Polaris utility terrain vehicle, thanks in part to a $20,000 grant from the Texas A&M Forest Service. The department will use the grant to help purchase a Polaris 1500, which will be outfitted with a 104-gallon water tank, foam capabilities for brush fire suppression, and a rescue basket for hard-toreach areas.
