HOUSTON - Madisonville barrel racer Michelle Alley and her mare Lipstick N Stilletos won all three rounds of Super Series 1 at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, earning $9,000 and a spot in the Semifinals.

HUNTSVILLE — Four action items cleared the Region 3 Trinity Regional Flood Planning Group Feb. 26, pushing the multi-county body closer to a completed 2028 Regional Flood Plan.

The Madison County Chamber of Commerce is bringing back its ambassador program, and Executive Director Kelly Mego said she needs the help. The chamber, which runs on a part-time staff, has gone without ambassadors for several years.

Madisonville officials are asking residents to grab a pair of gloves and help clean up city streets. The city will hold a volunteer street cleanup at 8 a.m.

The Madisonville Police Department has promoted Brittney Mahler to the rank of captain, filling the vacancy left by the retirement of Capt. Richard Morris. Morris retired after 11 years as Chief Herbert Gilbert’s second- in-command and 20 years in Texas law enforcement. He remains on as a reserve officer.
