A fatal shooting occurred early Saturday morning at Motel 6, located at 2007 E Main Street, leaving one woman dead and a man injured, according to the Madisonville Police Department.
Police Chief Herbert Gilbert reported to the Madisonville Meteor that law enforcement was working on a shooting death, with KBTX reporting that the incident occurred near 6:30 a.m.
CONROE — The Lady Mustangs have shown they have a penchant for defense this season, and Tuesday night, they again applied that pressure on their way to a Class 4A Regional Quarterfinal win over Liberty 57-35.
With the win, the Lady Mustangs moved to 30-5 on the season, dominating the Lady Panthers from start to finish.
"The defense is what has gotten us this far and tonight that led us again," said Madisonville Head Coach LaNeique Nealey. "I believe defense wins championships."
Deputy Luke Harrison and Deputy John David Harris from the Madison County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 45, finding upwards of 15 ounces of marijuana in the trunk of a vehicle.
The deputies observed the vehicle going 92 miles per hour, according to the press release, and finding probable cause, searched the vehicle and found 15.85 ounces of marijuana and an open bottle of alcohol.
