Madison County Jailers Graduate from TEEX Police Academy

Joe Velli and Kenneth Haynes entered the TEEX police academy in December, after having served as jailers for the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. As of Friday, May 31, both men have graduated from the academy.

The Madison County Fair Association elected its new Board of Directors Tuesday, June 4, at the Madison County Fairgrounds. Voters had to choose from nine candidates, with only five available seats on the board.
No reported cases of avian influenza in southern Texas

A spokeswoman from the Texas Animal Health Commission said that, so far, nothing indicates that there are reported cases of avian influenza in the southern part of the state, including the Brazos Valley.
