On Tuesday, March 12, the Madison County Commissioners court addressed a series of administrative and financial actions to enhance county services and operations. The court approved the annual renewal of the interlocal cooperation contract for the failure to appear program, designed for the follow-up process for individuals who do not appear for court appearances, including the issuance of warrants.

In the primary elections on Tuesday, March 5, an unprecedented tie has necessitated a unique resolution process for the Precinct 1 Commissioners’ race. Incumbent Ken Starr and challenger Billy McNutt each secured 139 votes, while Steve Parrish led with 208.

For the first time in its history, the Madisonville High School Band program sent three different bands to the UIL competition, winning trophies across all categories.

The varsity band earned sweepstakes honors, the JV band was awarded for excellence in sight-reading, and the concert band also secured sweepstakes honors. 

The following persons were arrested or booked into the Madison County jail on March 4, 2024, through March 10, 2024. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
