MIDWAY — Midway joined neighboring municipalities and declared a local state of disaster Friday, Jan. 23, as freezing conditions rolled toward Madison County.
An imminent threat posed by the severe winter weather approaching Madison County saw officials declare a local state of disaster Friday morning. Madison County Judge Clark Osborne filed the declaration with the county clerk about 10:43 a.m.
Madisonville Consolidated Independent School District canceled all weekend athletic events as an arctic blast brought ice and freezing temperatures to Madison County. Road scrimmages, Lil Dribblers games and Madisonville FC scrimmages did not take place.
Young soccer players can sharpen their skills this summer when FC Mustangs kicks off its first-ever soccer camp in June. The four-day camp runs Monday, June 2 through Thursday, June 5 at the Madisonville soccer fields.
