Madisonville citizens gathered at the Truman Kimbro Convention Center on the square Thursday to discuss the Public Improvement District (PID). Running the session and fielding questions, along with Madisonville City Manager Fabrice Kabona, were Abdi Yassin of MuniCap and Charles Von Schmidt, President and Managing Director of Waterstone Development Group.

The Madisonville men’s 4x200 relay squad finished second at Regionals to qualify for the State Meet last week and set a school record in the category, running it at 1:28.52. The team consists of Ronnie Mosley, Devin Wheaton, Jeramiah Burns, Rayce Hudson, Blessing Ngene and Lorenzo Johnson and will compete at the State Meet at the University of Texas May 12. The women’s 4x100 team narrowly missed returning to state with a third place finish at Regionals. Saint Louis University head women's basketball coach Rebecca Tillett has announced Madisonville native Tra'Dayja Smith an assistant coach. Smith spent the last three seasons as the starting point guard under Tillett at Longwood University, helping the team to a conference championship, the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance and the Lancers' first NCAA Tournament victory.

A few people have asked that we stop bringing to your attention the lack of progress reports regarding the murder of our neighbor, Anthony De’Milo Williams, Jr., last October. But now, at six months later, this seems to be much too long of a time to receive a ballistics report, and to share that this case is being diligently pursued, what do you think?
