The Madisonville Consolidated Independent School District (MCISD) held their monthly board meeting for October and discussed the upcoming renewal of their transportation contract, which is currently with Durham Services but expires at the end of the year.

The Madisonville football team dropped a tight matchup to the Rusk Eagles at home Friday by a score of 31-28 following a late turnover to fall to 1-1 in district play. The loss puts the Mustangs tied with the majority of the district at 1-1 with the exception of Carthage (2-0) and Shepherd (0-2).

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating 33-year-old Shawn Allen, a white male who stands at 5’5 and 145 pounds. Allen is wanted for Sexual Assault of a Child and Trafficking of a Minor and is known to frequent the Madisonville and Midway areas. Anyone with information on where we can locate Allen, please call the Madison County Sheriff’s Office at 936-348-2755 or dial 9-1-1. MCSO included the following in their Facebook post this week: “Anyone who assist Allen in eluding us, offering him a place to sleep, a car to drive or food to eat, will also be charged with TXPC: 38.05. Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution (F3) which states;

The Madisonville football team will travel to Center Friday for a crucial district matchup against the Roughriders. Both squads enter the matchup with a 1-1 district record. Roughrider Stadium is located at 658 Rough Rider Drive in Center. If you cannot make it to the game, the Meteor will have updates on its Facebook and Twitter pages throughout the contest.
