American Legion Post 84 in Madisonville held their Second Annual Brushy Creek BBQ Cook-off at their May Street location over the weekend. Proceeds from the event will help the Legion provide local scholarships to the area’s youth as well as fund their annual Thanksgiving and Christmas basket campaigns. Some of the winners (pictured above) include Michael Clopton, Curtis Hines, Michelle Hines, Jessie Taylor, Johnny Moore and Tommy Douga.

Due to an editing oversight, we failed to properly portray a quote provided by Mayor Pro Tem Chris McGilbra on Viator’s departure. The quote should have read as follows:

St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan, TX, has been recognized by CommonSpirit Health as a CABG Center of Excellence for 2021. There are 41 hospitals across CommonSpirit Health that have a Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) program. St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital is one of six hospitals to receive this designation, embodying best Coronary Artery Bypass Graft procedure practices and achieving CABG outcomes that exceed national standards.
