Mustangs shutout Teague in road rout

Madisonville football team torched the Teague Lions in their first road matchup of the season Friday by a score of 35-0, with all of their points coming in the first half before a running clock was used in the second. The 2-1 Mustangs will return to MHS for their homecoming matchup against highly-touted Lorena Friday.

Police chief interviews begin in Midway

Interviews are underway in Midway as the city searches for its first police chief. As many as 11 candidates applied for the new position, some from as far as Detroit, Michigan. Interviews are being conducted through a select committee consisting of the current police chiefs of two nearby municipalities, a deputy chief, two Midway council members and Midway Mayor Brenda Ford.
