CHI St. Joseph’s Hospital in Madisonville will be hosting Wellness Wednesdays along with the Madison County Chamber of Commerce in which hospital personnel will educate attendees on particular health categories. Substitute Teacher Training

The Madisonville CISD Community Education Program will offer a substitute teacher training class beginning Monday, June 14 and lasting through Thursday, June 17, at Madisonville Elementary School. The class will meet from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the library. The registration fee is $35. Interested persons should contact Prince Fite at Madisonville Elementary School at 936-348-2261 or Connie Kelly at the MCISD Administration Building at 936-348-2797 (ext. 5010)

How ‘bout those Bearkats? The Sam Houston State University football team not only won the FCS title last week, but did so with only 16 seconds left in the game – and are now National Champs! FCS stands for Football Championship Subdivision and is the highest level of NCAA championship football with 24 teams battling to emerge victorious. I bet more than a handful of Madisonville folks have some kind of certificate from our neighboring town.
