The Madisonville baseball team concluded their season over the weekend with a Bi-District series loss to Hudson in two games. The Mustangs fell to the Hornets by a score of 8-1 Friday in Lufkin and 7-0 Saturday at MHS.

Wesley Holdridge, who had a warrant out for his arrest in Madison County for second degree sexual assault, was arrested and taken into custody by the College Station Police Department May 5. As of Monday, Holdridge remained in custody at the Brazos County Jail in Bryan.

The Madison County Commissioners approved a proclamation recognizing May as Elder Abuse Prevention Month at their bi-weekly meeting Monday. Nikki Parker, a representative from Adult Protective Services (APS), was in attendance and spoke to the Commissioners before the vote.
