Since the introduction of the Accountability Act for educators in 1996, the Madisonville Consolidated Independent School District has offered orientation training for substitute teachers. Prince Fite, the head of the substitute training program and assistant principal of Madisonville Elementary School, shared some of his insights into the program.

If you ask Carl Ramsey’s friends and loved ones to describe him to you in one word, they might tell you he’s crazy (among other colorful adjectives not suitable for print). After all, not many 48-year-olds would willingly grace the back of a ferocious bull in front of scores of people; even fewer would live to tell the tale.

The Madisonville City Council postponed accepting a 10-foot waterline easement from CH Store Holding, LLC, known as the Madisonville Christmas company. The decision to delay came during the council meeting on Monday, April 8, after the Christmas company changed the agreed-upon terms.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has shared two wanted individuals in separate cases with the public and is asking for the public’s assistance. The first case is Kimberly Ann Thrasher, 58.

On January 29, Nathan Cole Phillips pled guilty to two indictments for Indecency with a Child involving Sexual Contact, a second-degree felony, in the 12th District Court before Judge David Moorman. Both juvenile victims were younger than 17 years old at the time of the abuse, according to the Madison County District Attorney’s press release.

The City of Midway will hold a general election on Monday, May 4, to elect two members to the City Council for full two-year terms. Four candidates filed to run in the election: Jessica Jolley, Marc Nelson, Randal Dorman, and Brandee Curtis.
