MCISD Board Approves New Budget

The Madisonville Consolidated Independent School District board of trustees approved a new budget and tax rate for the 2024-2025 school year at a meeting Monday, Aug, 28 In a quiet session with no public comments, the board voted to adopt a total tax rate of $0.8715 per $100 valuation. This marks a slight decrease from last year’s rate of $0.8738.

Madisonville High Seeks Male Mentors for Student Program

Madisonville High School launched a new initiative called Mustang Mentors, seeking local men to serve as positive role models for students. The program calls for volunteers to greet students as they arrive at school one Friday each month. Organizers are reaching out to dads, grandpas, uncles, father figures, and businessmen in the community.
