Fire destroys East Limit Street home

A portable heater sparked a fire that destroyed a Madisonville home Wednesday, Feb. 4.
Madisonville Fire/Rescue responded to 103 E. Limit St. about 12:15 p.m. after Bonita Clifton reported smoke coming from her residence. Fire Chief Thom Jones said Clifton was across the street when the blaze started.
Clifton said she saw smoke and called 911.

NORMANGEE — A local family said they lost everything when a heater used to keep their pets warm started the fire that destroyed their Church Street home early last week. Normangee and North Zulch volunteer fire departments responded to the Currie residence around 4 a.m.

Farm Bureau grants support North Zulch FFA projects
