NORTH ZULCH — North Zulch Independent School District earned high marks in its latest academic performance report, claiming six distinctions with some grades ranking among the highest in the state, according to officials. Principals Janie Pope and Donald May reviewed the district’s A ranking and 2024-25 Texas Academic Performance Report scorecard with trustees during their meeting March 12.

Madison County Commissioners Court voted March 10 to declare two parcels of the former elementary school property surplus and sell them through a licensed real estate broker. The property includes a vacant 5.3-acre parcel on West Park Street and a 6.7acre tract on 300 School St.

For the first time, Madisonville Consolidated Independent School District students will get a fall break. Trustees approved a 20262027 school calendar Monday, March 9 that adds a five-day break in October built around Columbus Day.
