The Madisonville Sidewalk Cattlemen’s Association held their 82nd Annual Steak Dinner at their pavilion Saturday. The event featured students’ Ag mechanics projects, dinner, a silent auction and live entertainment from Kenny Orts and No Chance. Pictured are the Grand and Reserve Champions from the event, Ethan Barrett and Mackenzie Foster, as they receive their buckles from Blake Pipes. TEN MILE CEMETERY

The Ten Mile Cemetery (7546 FM 2289 Normangee, Texas 77871) located in Madison County has been recognized as a Texas Historical Cemetery by the Texas Historical Commission. Saturday, May 7, 2022, has been set to conduct the celebration ceremony for the unveiling of the Ten Mile Historical Emblem. The ceremony will be conducted at the Ten Mile Cemetery Pavilion at 10 a.m. Madison County officials, Historical Commission representatives and T.M. Board Members will conduct the ceremony. All interested persons are invited to attend the ceremony.

LULAC CINCO DE MAYO FESTIVAL

League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) of Huntsville and Walker County Unidos is hosting the tenth annual Cinco de Mayo Festival on Saturday, May 7, at Rather Park, located at 13th street and University St. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be entertainment from the Ballet Folklorico de Huntsville performing traditional Mexican dances, live music, games for children, food vendors and arts and crafts booths, as well as public service booths from various nonprofit organizations.
