Update from the State Capitol

Body
With the Holiday season officially wrapped up, I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year! As we settle back into our routines, let us not forget that each new year affords us the opportunity to think back on not only our achievements, but also the struggles we’ve faced and how we can improve. Whether you commit to a New Year’s resolution or not, it is my hope that we all take some time to consider what we wish to accomplish this year and strive to help each other fulfill our goals in the coming year.

But the Senate parliamentarian nixed the immigration provision, and Senator Joe Manchin subsequently refused to vote for the bill itself, ending all hopes for immigration reform in 2021.
