The North Zulch men’s basketball team dropped a district matchup in Dime Box Jan. 12 and a non-district matchup to West Hardin Saturday. The latter contest was scheduled late in lieu of their district game against Round Top-Carmine, which was rescheduled for Jan. 27.

The North Zulch women’s basketball team improved to 5-1 in district play after defeating Dime Box and Round Top-Carmine last week. A critical home matchup against undefeated Fayetteville looms for the Lady Bulldogs on Friday.

The Madisonville women’s basketball team fell to 0-4 to start district play last week with losses to Robinson on the road Jan. 12 and China Spring at MHS Friday. The young Lady Mustangs battled Connally in search of their first league win Tuesday and will host Mexia Friday.

The Madisonville men’s basketball team split their first two district matchups last week with a 52-37 win over Robinson at MHS Jan. 12 and a 60-37 road loss in China Spring Friday. The Mustangs returned home to host Connally Tuesday and will travel to Mexia Friday.

The Madisonville men’s soccer team welcomed 11 teams to Mustang Stadium Thursday through Saturday to compete in the program’s annual tournament at MHS. Eight of the 11 teams advanced to the tournament round, which took place Saturday.

The North Zulch men’s basketball team split a pair of district matchups last week with a 48-34 win over Bartlett Jan. 5 and a 72-47 loss to Calvert at NZHS Friday. The split brought the Bulldogs’ overall district record to 3-1 entering Tuesday’s road matchup at Dime Box.
